WTA's Commitment to Racial and Social Justice
As a provider of public transportation, and in recognition of America’s historical inequalities related to public transportation, WTA acknowledges our responsibility to racial and social justice.WTA cares deeply about the racial and social injustice that has long plagued our country and communities. We stand in solidarity with every person taking lawful steps to create a just world. As a public transportation agency, our role is to provide access to opportunity for everyone, in a safe and equitable way. All 270 WTA employees show up each day to serve our community. Ours is a culture of compassion and respect. We do not tolerate acts of racism or injustice on our system or within our organization. We’re committed to listening, learning and to acting on what we learn. We understand these are difficult times that require thoughtful introspection regarding our accountability to the people and communities we serve. We are examining our policies, practices, and decisions through the lens of equity, access, and opportunity. We are part of the movement toward a just and fair society in which everyone can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential.
