We're committed to providing you with a safe bus riding experience, as well as facilities that are well lit, well maintained and secure.
If you have a concern about safety, please give us a call at (360) 676-7433. If you want to let us know about a particular incident, please provide as many details as you can, such as date, time of day, route number, etc.
We ask for your help in identifying and reporting anything you feel is suspicious, including:
WTA's Transit Safety Officers interact with riders and others in the community, to address safety concerns, and to connect people with resources. You'll see our Transit Safety Officers at our stations and riding buses. If you see unwanted or unsafe behavior, please alert a Transit Safety Officer, or another WTA employee.
Be aware of your belongings, your surroundings and the people around you. If you see someone or something suspicious, say something. Alert the operator, another WTA employee, or the police on the concourse. Or call 911.
WTA has Standards of Conduct that includes paying your fare, offering designated seats to seniors and people with disabilities, keeping the noise down, making room for other riders, and being respectful of others.
Please respect the ride and the people that provide it. Treat our buses, stops and terminals like you would your own property. This is our transit system and together we can keep it safe.
When car break-ins increase in the community, they increase at our Park and Rides. Do not leave belongings visible in your car. Put them in the trunk, or use a cargo cover in the back of your vehicle. And be sure to lock your car before you leave.
For your safety, and the safety of our drivers, we have cameras on all of our buses.
